what kind of a machine do you have, patti? just curious.
Don't know what talents your mom had, but you sure got tons from "Bratti's daddy!"

I use my darning foot...sometimes use the stitch regulator, sometimes I don't. If I get in a good rhythm...I can do them better without the regulator actually....my machine is a Bernina 200.

My Mom was an artist (watercolors, oils, jewelry maker, seamstress((who didn't teach me how to sew), musician. My Dad is a fabulous cartoonist who ended up with a "real" job and didn't pursue his "arty" side). thanks though (she says blushing )

Well Patty, the genes have definately been passed on and if your Mum didnīt teach you to sew, you sure as heck have the hang of it now. You do the most amazing things.

Ripping done, new ideas and moved forward. I'm actually finished with the quilting now.....Haven't blocked or bound it yet...but here is a sneaky peek of what I've done...

I changed my mind on the feather for the outer border and went with just quilting around the flowers and then I added more to the flower cornerstones. I liked K's ideas for the leaves on the braid, but realized that I was trying to over think that border and it needed something simple so as to not take away from the piecing there.

So...here ya' go...some progress. I'll post a pic of the whole quilt finished when I get it bound.

It's exquisite, Patti. You are a master at quilting with your home machine. If only I could do half as well.
