    i think I would do echo quiting on the braid. Keep it simplier so it doesn't up stage the other beautiful quilting you did.

    Thanks all....I'm actually thinking that I might end up doing the 1/4" away from the outside of each braid section. I'm going to do it in curves though, not straight lines since I'm doing it on my DSM. With the curve, I won't have to try to turn the quilt and won't have to use my walking foot. (I'm not good enough to do straight lines without it).

    I think I agree with your gbquilter..going back to the KISS thought process.. LOL!

    I am a little late to this thread, but have read through most posts. I am new to LA and cannot imagine doing what you are doing on a domestic! Excellent FMQ!!!

    My two cents....I think you should keep the same density quilting throughout. The vine design in the braided border does not seem to give it enough coverage.

    The McTavishing swirl would give you the chance to do as much or as little as you want.

    Be sure and post the final result!

    That is really beautiful , I think I would SID on the braiding to emphasize the design. I like your other ideas for the rest.
