Quilting Confessions
#55
I am quite the opposite as a rule. I get most of my quilting done alone. Of course, I spend most of my time alone, or with DH, but he is busy with his own things, as he should be. I really love when we had family get togethers to sew as a group, but that was because I love being with family and sharing time with them. I'm a fairly solitary person when left to my own devices I guess. LOL

I am a solo quilter.
There is no one here I want to quilt with.
I love to get on the board to see what everyone else is doing. I am still working on a quilt that I started in August. If it wasn't because I joined the UFO finishers group on this board, I would put it away. I like to be inspired periodically, but do my best work alone. I have a quilt buddy that lives 3 hours away.

My husband and I turned a large room in the back of our house into a family room with the TV, couch and chairs on one end and my sewing machine on the other end. That way we are together, him watching TV and myself, sewing. It has worked out great for us. I can still listen to TV or watch something he points out to me and we can talk. We're together but each doing our own thing. It worked out great for us!

[QUOTE=rubia;4789089]I like the social aspect of quilting and have a hard time motivating myself to quilt when I'm by myself.
You?[/QUOTE
You just described me. I am also a great starter, not so good on follow through.

I'm sure I'd love to quilt with friends and I've invited people over, but spend the time getting them set up. I have no prob sewing with just me. I have a big screen tv, an embroidery machine, 2 sergers, 2 sewing machines and a long arm. I'm in heaven and I love to sew alone, but my dh is also next door in his shop and we wander back & forth.
