If you can not motivate yourself. How can you motivate others.
We moved from Winchester 9 years ago. I just started quilting when we left.
Have you been to Jinny Beyers Shop?

I am the same as you, I took a lot of classes just because I wanted to be with others. Now that I am unable to get out, some of the others come over and we accomplish a lot more . I do get more motivated when I have one to finish quick for a reason, hence, like now when someone wants a quilt and is not in very good health, I want her to enjoy it while she can. Motivated

I get more done when I quilt alone, however, I love to quilt with a group so we can all share information and see each others projects.

I have participated in a couple of BOTM meets. We meet to get the materials, but sew the block at home. There is often show and tell, and always a lot of advice if looking for suggestions on other projects too!

Where is that? I've been no where remotely quilting related except to the Hancock in Leesburg for Black Friday batting.

I have a hard time getting started after I put a project down for a while.
But when I pick it up again I am reminded of how much I love sewing.

I don't have anybody to sew with, but sometimes I do wish somebody would just be there to keep me company as sewing by yourself for long periods of time is quite lonely.

I usually quilt by myself, but when I want to learn a new thing I take classes and that's when I quilt with others. I will admit it is more fun with someone else.

I quilt by myself the most. I go on retreats but feel insecure with my sewing. Most of the women make two quilts in the three days we are there. I don't even finish one. I feel like a wallflower. At home, I'm confident, I have three quilts going at the same time and I can quilt for an hour and stop or quilt all day. But at the retreats, I feel less than. I am the youngest (at 57) and feel like I'm in jr. high there. Isn't it weird? I'm a homebody I guess.

I am a lone quilter, I go downstairs to the Quilt Cave and sew to my heart's content ... when I have handstitching to do, I will sometimes sit upstairs with my SO or take it to my monthly Fibre Arts group at church ... but I love to work on my projects by myself, and emerge from my cave with the finished product to show off. I go to classes sometimes, but find I get more done, and learn more, by myself. Just odd that way, I guess.
