How do you determine what design goes with the finished block or quilt top. I am ready to start quilting a king sive paper pieced quilt pattern, it is Cactus Rose by Judy Neimer. It has a marriners compass in center of blocks surrounded by cactus roses.Would like suggestions please .The quilt is done in Fairy Frost fabrics and I want to quilt it with silver matalic thread very lightest color silver to pick up the silver in alot of the fabric I used. I'm thinking feather designs might be nice.Look forward to hearing comments from all of you wonderful quilters out there. Thanks in advance for all your great advice.

OK Well ...I see the quilt now that K posted a link.

The one Harriet did in the link is really pretty as well. She used feather plumes. I don't know that you could really go wrong with any design unless it had sharp angles..because it is such a striking quilt. But if you are doing in in three section I would definatly use paper or mark your quilt somehow.....I hope you show it...I think it will be stunning. I am working on a Japanese Fan for my Judy N. Quilt and using fairy frost as my background as well..it's such a pretty fabric.

My son and I tried to post pictures today 4 X but we couldn't get them to load . We will try again tomorrow.Very frustrating think it's sattellite and storms in our area. Can,t wait to see your Fan quilt I have been trying to get a hold of that one also but it was sold out.I have enjoyed the paper pieceing process .This is the first one I have ever done and learned so much. Not sure I am going to do applique on all 9 blocks ,thinking corners and center block. Thanks for the suggestions .Angie

Go to http://www.digitalartquilts.com and you will find so many ideas for quilting you won't know which one to choose.
