    Default Quilting Ideas Please

I finished this top and have no idea on how to quilt it. I haven't mastered FMQ and am not about to attempt it on this quilt so I am in need of ideas. I bought the Hawaiian fabric at the Aloha Bowl flea market on my Honeymoon almost 15 yrs ago and call this quilt Hawaiian Sands. The print fabric is much thicker than the tan. Circles? Straight lines? Ideas and help please.

First off...love the quilt!! Also, welcome to the quilt board!

I like the idea of the circles but if the print will be difficult to quilt through you might want to just do SID around the blocks and corner to corner inside the block (hope that makes sense). Then if you want to add some pizzazz, use a variegated thread and make a design on that dark border, like waves or flowers or some simple free motion.

What ever you decide it's going to look amazing! Be sure to post the finish!

great quilt! i love your transition between the center and the outer border. my 'go to' quilt design to give the quilt motion and dimension is simply the elongated serpentine stitch.

I made this pattern and quilted mine with a medium meander/stipple. Easy, plus the quilt already has a lot to look at. In my opinion more elaborate quilting would make a busy quilt even busier :-)

I'd do straight line quilting with a walking foot in a neutral thread that will just blend right in. Easy peasy and it won't distract from your lovely work!

Gorgeous quilt - don't have a suggestion for quilting, but would love to see another photo when it's done!

Gorgeous quilt. Love the bright colors with black. I'd just stripple it. You've got the secondary diamond design and I wouldn't want quilting to distract from it. Very cool looking quilt.

Circles are harder than FMQ so I would do a large meander. It would soften all the angles in the quilt. Beautiful fabrics and well done.
