I got an Ipad yesterday & downloaded a couple of quilting programs to it. Its amazing what those little things can do. I could only find the original model, everyone had sold out of the Ipad 2, even the Apple store at the mall was out. I found one, just what I was looking for, at Walmart- of all places. I snatched it up. So far, I love the little machine. I guess I've moved into the world of technology in a big way now. I got :Quilters App" that was $15 & "BlockFab" which is free. I haven't yet figured out how to print off the quilts I design, not sure even if it has a print feature. Anyway, now I can take this tiny wonder to guild meetings & not have to lug the laptop around. I think I love my IPad- so far.

I'm very interested to see what else you can find out about it, such as printing. How much are they at WalMart?

Edit: Looks like they are $399 without wi-fi and higher with it.

This page talks about printing, but I imagine you have to have a printer that accepts wireless printing requests:

Hi I love mine! I have the older version also. I have several programs on it that I use for quilting.
    1) "Penultimate" I use this drawing program to practice FMQ. Obviously, a very small space to work in, but I used to start stippling in a block and sipple myself into a corner. So I would draw a shape, square, triangle etc. and practice.
2)"Adobe ideas". You pull in a JPEG of a block, then play around with quilting designs. This app is nice because it automatically straightens out wobbly lines that you draw giving you a better idea of what your quilting will look like.
    3) "Calc&Draw" Just what it says. A drawing surface with a calculator so you can do a quick sketch and then calculate how much fabric, how many blocks etc.
    4) "GoodReader" I download PDFs of quilting, sewing & knitting patterns & instructions. I don't have wifi near my sewing machine so now I can look at the PDF instructions while I sew.

I'm going to go check out "Quilters App"

My son has an iPad and he prints things off of it, but I am pretty sure he has to hook it up to the laptop first to be able to do so.
