    Hi,
I'm going to practise quilting today (after dog walk in the wind and rain) and want to know from you helpful people if there is a button/thingy on my machine Pfaff Expression-fab piece of kit) that I can use to start and finish my line/pattern (not FMQ yet) or do I bring up the bobbin thread at the beginning and hide it by sewing it back in when I've finished??
Hopeful of help from you lovely lot.
    Annie

I have an Expressions 3.0 and am able to program an automatic tie-off at the beginning of the seam and push a button to do one at the end of the seam. I'm sure it could be done for FMQ also though I don't do that yet either!

In my manual its called "Tie-Off". Hope you have one! I still pull up my bobbin thread to start off.

    Many thanks,
I've managed to suss it out with your help. I'm practising and practising and it seems to be working out pretty well.
    Thanks again,
    Annie

I just got my Expressions a couple of weeks ago so I'm learning too! Had an old Pfaff before and love the machine. Only wish I could afford the 4.0 to get the pressure foot lifter and low-bobbin warning.

Enjoy your day! Time I was in my bed - it's 3:00am here in Southern Washington State.

Thanks for messaging me so late Kitsie, hope you're tucked up and sleeping now. My quilting is going so well now and I've even started on my quilt. Will post a photo when I've done a bit more.
I have a Pfaff 1471 which is still going strong and I use it for classes becuase I don't want to haul my Expression around. I'm a lucky lady.
Thanks again from across the water,
    Annie

Morning Annie! My old Pfaff is an 1196 and I can't find a year on it! I'd need a forklift to haul it to a class.

Sipping my morning tea before doing more quilting on a GD's quilt.

    Enjoy!
