#1 My mental health
#2 For my enjoyment
#3 For my use, how ever that may be
Have absolutely no desire to enter quilt shows. Have done my share of winning in other activities so competitiveness no longer enters into it.

Am I the only one who thinks like this or do all of you? I get great pleasure thinking of my quilts being passed down from one generation to another. Then hopefully many years on my great great great grandchild (hopefully) will fall in love with some of my now, antique quilts and cherish them. I would love to have a crafted article of some type passed on from one of my relatives and perhaps one of my descendants will too!

Quilting, just like my croceting and hand embroidery, is like therapy to me. They are stress relievers. Every quilt I have made, has been a bed quilt, to be used to wrap my loved one in warmth. The time I am working on my quilts, I think of the person I am making it for. It brings me joy to give my "home made with love" quilts to my loved ones.

For me, quilting is art mixed with functionality mixed with love mixed with therapy... My quilts will never be shown (except at Show-and-Tell at guild), but the few I've made have been beautiful in the eye of each recipient. It's hard to explain the grip quilting holds on us, isn't it...
I, too, hope that someday my quilts are "discovered" by some great-great-relative of some kind (no grands yet...) and treasured for the love stitched into them.
