    I use commercial ones if they are right for the project and fit.

    Otherwise, I make my own with stencil plastic from the Stencil Company and a double-bladed stencil knife (Olfa). I use the Miracle Chalk pounce with the chalk that irons off.

    If I need the stencil for a small quilt, I will make it on paper, stitch it with a size 18 needle without thread and longer stitch length, and pounce it.

    I found some on e-bay. I know I will find some at the Houston International Quilt Show coming up the first of November.

    I get mine from The Stencil Co. at www.quiltingstencils.com They have really got a lot of very nice stencils, and not very expensive either!
    Sorry, I don't know how to make the address so that you can just click on it and go there. I'm not computer illiterate, but almost :lol:

    I just bought a book recently that has 101 different designs in it, I bought it on Clotilde.com

    You can get them at your LQS. I have even gotten them from Hobby Lobby.
