Default Quilting suggestions needed on baby quilt

    Hello Y'all,

I'm about to embark on the quilting of this commissioned quilt for a cousin's grandson.
Baby Arthur is due in December. Mom-to-be rides & races motorbikes! I plan to give this to the family when I'm home visiting them at Thanksgiving. So time it getting short!

Anyway - I'm planning speed/wind 'lines' in the blue area surrounding the motorcycle, and either a grid or meander on the white motorcycle print. But I'm still pondering what to do in the border areas and especially in all that black ON the motorcycle/rider. Any and all suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks,
    Donna Mc

Well done! If you are going to do wind effect, I might use the serpentine stitch over the whole quilt except the rider. The rider I might trapunto by outline stitching around it on a piece of batt, trim away the excess, and then sandwich the top and finish quilting. Whatever you quilt, it will be cute.

I love the quilt! No idea what to do for quilting, though. You'll get some good ideas, that I am sure of.

My only suggestion is to never use invisible thread on a child's quilt. It is nylon and doesn't usually snap, so if a bit comes loose and pulls out, it can wrap around a little ones toes or fingers.
