I use Mettler Silk Wrapped thread. Never had a problem and that is what the Bernina dealer told me to use.

I use either Connecting Threads or, my favorite, Superior So Fine #50. The only thread my machine doesn't like is Isaacord.

I use a lot of Connecting Threads, both the poly and cotton. The cotton tends to be a little lintier, but the colors are worth cleaning out the bobbin area more frequently. I've also used a lot of Gutterman, which works fine. My machine (Janome 6600) also dislikes Coats and Clark for fmq, so I'm trying to use up what I have for piecing.
