Quilting Treasure Hunt at your own house!

You know you can save $ by going shopping at your own house with your cool fabrics, patterns, quilt books, rulers etc.

This way you will find things that you forgot you bought. This would be a good time to get your things all nice and organized.

I have been organizing my quilt books (yes, I found duplicates).
I now have my quilting books in a file cabinet and have them filed by authors, that way I can see at a glance if I bought a duplicate one when I file it away.

Also I got some of the ABC tabs and put to make it easier to organize them by alphabetical order.

I am organizing the quilting magazines by name of the magazines and then putting them in date order, with the newest on top.

What a job but is working for me.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with duplicate quilt books! Some of the duplicates I got when my mom died, but a couple I bought twice!

I have duplicates as well. Bought the same book twice in one week. I must really have wanted that book.

I recently donated some duplicates to the local Senior group. I wish I knew about this board, I could have sold them and bought more fabric. lol I have to go through my stash once in a while and my books so I don't buy the same ones over and over.

Yes, my sister had a habit of buying one copy for me & one for her. As a librarian, I thought this a waste as I could just borrow a book from her. When she lost her battle with colon cancer, I ended up with a lot of duplicate copies.
