So glad your hubby is doing well. Now that the worst is over maybe you can find something to do that is portable and will keep you busy for the rest of the wait. Hopefully you will be home soon and able to pick up where you left off. Prayers are with you both!

Hope all goes well with the transplant. My prayers are with you both. Years ago you could "rent" a sewing machine to try it out..Might make a few phone calls and see if someone is still willing to do that. Thats how I made my wedding dress. Later bought a machine from them . So it worked out for both of us.

Run over to JoAnn's buy a yo-yo maker, some hand quilting thread in black and/or white and needles. Then go back to the red tag area and buy clearance fabric in 1/8 yd or 1/4 yd pieces depending on the size yo-yo make you buy. OOPS and I guess you'll need to buy some inexpensive scissors, too!
I love mine and can now do handwork even with my arthritis because the yo-yo maker holds the fabric in place while I stitch. I've made them out of cotton, silky fabrics, chiffons, etc. I've even done some taffetas that are really great. I'm using them to decorate purses, headbands, etc. I leave the thread long once I tie it off so I can add a button from my 'stash' for the center.
It's been a great stress reliever for me.
Prayers going up for you and hubby.

We're snowbirds, and I haven't been able to sew much either. I've been doing embroidery and enjoying it more than I thought I would. I'm even considering learning to hand quilt. Maybe some hand sewing would help. Best of luck to you and DH!

Glad your DH is doing well, sorry your having a withdrawal, Do you knit, crochet, do embroidery? Maybe you can stop in a store around where you are and pick up a little something to tide you over, or you have this group who is open 24/7
