I have found great things at yard sales. Last weekend, I purchased a ton of fabric and patterns for $12 and a quilt holder for $5.00.

I LOVE YARD SALES!!! Have found: fabric, notions, rulers cutting mats rotery cuters, cut squars, HST, patterns part finished Quilt tops, several sewing machinews & sergers for myself and friends, thredels, 2 Cutting tables, kitchen cabnets, and 3 China hutches for storage in sewing room, sewing boxes for all my grands, and a couple of extras for me. I even look for tools, furniture, old cookbooks. I have a list of things I, family, and friends want. One year I found on 3 seprate weekends 3 larg electric cement mixers for my DH and two of his buddies The most costly was $45.

They aren't my weakness, but I do love the Estate sales! Got a really nice big cutting mat at one for $5, and at another one got a couple of boxes of books for $5 a piece.

Auctions are another way to go! Yardsales I usually reserve for looking for tools and furniture! But if I find one that has good quilitng stuff I definetly take it home with me!

Yards sales are fun. Estate sales not so much. They are alway too pricey, and held by those snobby "professional" folks who think yer money isn't good enough anyway. I know it's gonna be a bad one when I see several folks leaving without a thing in their hands.

If you need it, you will find it at a garage/yard sale!
