Yard sales are great fun......... I dont buy alot of fabric there but am always on the lookout for old sewing machines and antique quilts. You never know what you'll find!!

i love garage sales! i like to pick up material to use when figuring out a new pattern. i don't feel as guilty if i mess it up than if i had used my "good" stuff!

never been lucky to find anything sewing related at any yard sale I've ever been to. One day, maybe I'll get lucky.

I love the combination. I also check out thrift stores, got a box of sewing supplies yesterday for $5 full of great stuff including brand new betweens in several sizes.

I don't know anyone that doesn't like yard sales????? even my dh loves to go and is always looking for material, sewing machines, etc for me, plus tools etc for him...we use to golf on the week-ends, we do that during the week, so that we can hit the estate sales and yards sales..What a lovely life!!!!!!

I'm in "minimalist mode" at the moment LOL
Trying to get rid of things so I'm resisting the temptations out there.
But I'm missing out on the fun!!!!!!! :D

About a month ago I got approximately 110 yards of 1930's reproductions fabric for $5. They aren't exactly my style but I will use them for donation quilts. I am a batik and brights girl. I also got over 100 yards of mostly autumn colored prints for $15. I have banned myself from yard sale fabric and LQS for a while as my stash is taking over my sewing room. Although if I found batiks at a yard sale I would probably buy it all. My SIl recently purchased a yarn shop that briefly sold fabric and she gave me 2 shopping bags full of fabric scraps. Mostly fat quarters and bigger.
