I hit the yard sales every Saturday morning, I think the enjoyment comes from wondering what you will find. I also frequent the thrift stores. Just recently I purchased a Necchi, in great condition, at Goodwill. I also got a hand sewen quilt at a garage sale that was in great condition.

I keep hoping that I will find a quilting frame that my juki will work on, included of course with a stitch regulator all for next to nothing. A girl has to dream doesn't she? LOL

went to a yard sale today, lady said business was slow... but she sold an old sewing machine real quick. I asked her about the machine, she said it was an old treadle, the kind with a wood box to cover the machine.. ohhhhhh I should have been there early!!!!!!!

I love yard sales, but have had no luck lately. For some reason we are just not getting out and about, not sure which of us is to blame.

I like yd sales, I have to be in the mood to go to them. My dh dislikes them, says I will bring more junk home. It is a high when you find a bargain.

We have those in our mountain town too, but I haven't seen any fabric at them in the last few years. Folks are hanging onto their stuff a lot more these days, unless they're needing some $$ and then they tend to price what they have too high or don't have anything worth buying sometimes. It's too bad.

Good luck to you this weekend.

I guess the best bargain I got at a yard sale was when I hadn't been quilting long. I got a whole box full of quilting magazines for $3.00. when I got home I counted them and there were 91 books. I was in heaven with all those patterns. I still have them and when I need inspiration, I go sit down and look through them.
