LOVE yard sales and thrift stores. Most yard sales people just want to get rid of stuff so you can get really cheap prices. Our thrift stores generally sell for $1 a yard so, still a really goood deal!

My car automatically turns at garage/estate sale signs. I used to look mostly for books, but since I retired from teaching, I now am looking for anything related to sewing. It's a ball and you can meet some very interesting people while doing it.

Have found perfectly good 100% cotton quilting fabric, lots of clothes for myself and grandsons. About 3 months ago I found 2 yrds of (new) Harry Potter fabric, it was $1. I was in hog heaven, becuz I'm a die hard Potter fan

I found 2 darling plates at a local sale, 25 cents each. I took them home and hung them on my dining room wall. Still love them to this day! Garage sales can be such a money saver if you buy only what you need or can use. Need to do that more.

Love my Saturday morning yard sales. I have found sewing machines, a tall cabinet with doors for fabric, men's shirts to be cut up, even a pressing pad ( it has the shiny silver cover.) It's become a tradition. When we visited San Diego( when I was into macrame ) we found yard sales where I found macrame cord and knitting needles. We will probably see more yard sales now with the bad economy.

I love to go to yard and rummage sales. I have found a lot of fabric, patterns, books, notions, etc. In fact, tomorrow I am going to a quilters' yard sale. They are supposed to have fabrics, patterns, and even unfinished projects. I hope to find lots of goodies.

There is a multi-family annual yard sale tomorrow. Can't wait.

My sister told me about a yard sale the weekend before the 4th of July that had fabric so I had to go. I bought 47.5 yds. of fabrics for $23. I was so happy. It is all quilt shop quality fabrics. The size of the pieces ranged from 1 to 4 yds. except for a couple of 1/2 yd. pieces I fell in love with and bought in spite of the small size. I know I will use them.
