awesome that you are making quilts for kids

I am working on my first downy quilt now that I started Monday, had to buy some black fabric for the binding.

Update: Last night, I grabbed my Accuquilt and cut out 6 1/2 squares (well, my boyfriend did :D ), and starting sewing. I have 3 seams left and I have my first quilt top (pictures at that point). I figured I'd start with the fastest one, but, yay, almost got 1 down

My suggestion is don't be too complicated in the designs. Simple designs in bright colors are attractive to kids and sure saves me a lot of time.

I make very simple quilts. They are one piece of bright fabric for the top, batting and back. I get sports prints, animals, any thing baby look or young children.
I quilt about every 4.5" down and bind by hand. I can make a lot of these. However, I have done others that are very easy and quick to do. I'll post in the picture sections.

Just did a search for Quilts for Kids.
I had not heard about this.
    It's something I can do.

    Do they include return postage?
Once you finish 1 kit and send it back, can you request another?
    Thanks sew much!

Amen! My first one was all 6 1/2" squares. I do have a few slightly complicated designs since I want to practice with my Accuquilt. Thank you for the reminder

As far as I know, no return postage (my kit's arriving on Weds. I'll let you know if there is return postage). You can request multiple kits (I requested 2, one for me and one for my gf), they just request it comes back within 4-6 weeks. Speaking for what I would do, be careful not to get too many kits at once, in case life comes up and you can't get them done quickly. That's why I only did 1 for me.

As far as I know we the quilter provides the batting, thread, expertise and return shipping. I don't recall getting any return postage label.
