Default Quilts With Messages on Them

Please let me see your quilt with words, I.e. bible verses or messages on them after the quilt has been quilted. I'm interested in knowing how the quilting affects the print.

I'm making my niece, who is in ICU with COVID, a quilt, which will have favorite bible verses or messages incorporated onto it from family. Thank you for your help.

Not sure if this helps...On this quilt, I quilted straight lines across the words about 1/2 inch apart. I wanted it to replicate the "wooden" background. The borders were done with a serpentine stitch and my double needle! I used silver metallic thread.

I did the star pattern that was on the net that showed with the Bible verse fabric. I just SITD along all the seams and added stars around the verses free motion. I would post a picture but since the site update, I can no longer post pictures from my IPad.

I love to use designs from my embroidery machine, including bible verses and other stuff. Plus I love using panels.

I now do a simple edge to edge design with my LA over most, and don't worry about stitching over words or embroidery anymore.

I'd love to have the time to FM and do neat designs to highlight the embroidery, but right now "done" is most important.

Here are a couple pictures. I usually do cross-hatching over words.

All the above quilts are beautiful! I had pre-printed and just stitched in the ditch. I think either way you decide will be fine. I hope your niece improves greatly and recovers fully from this dreadful virus.

Sorry, I can't find a photo of the Civil War quilt I made with a quote from Vermont's governor in 1860 in the borders. I wrote in cursive on Golden Threads quilting paper which I pinned to the quilt while quilting it. Then ripped the paper away to expose the writing.

I have not made a quilt with words on it.

I made a wedding quilt and used the monogramming function on my machine to write sayings about love on the binding. Things like "The greatest gift in the world is free. It is Love." I often write the quilt label in the same way, on the binding.
