    Default Quilts with Minky Backing

It's been a while since I have posted any pictures of my quilts. These are recent ones for two of my grandkids.

A little more detail since the pictures attached, I'm never sure. Spiderman is for our 10 year old grandson. Flip flops for teen age grand- daughter who is a competitive swimmer. The border and some of the other fabrics are from the Mandala Magic line of batiks. Most flip flops are from a Tula Pink layer cake package I bought on sale and finally found a good use for. They are mainly little sea related designs. Of course, the colors are not showing well from my iphone camera. Backing is a pale pink minky with a rosette sort texture. Spiderman focus fabric is a licensed product from Marvel comics. I used the edging to go around a label for him. And edging is not the right word, but cannot think of now.

If the "edging" you put around the label is the selvedge, I think that is a very unique idea!
I had never thot if doing that, but I plan to do so with future labels. Not only does it identify those special quilts, but is so helpful for matching a fabric that might get damaged. Thank you for posting this method. And your quilts are adorable..I have no grandies to sew for.

Thank you, Mermaid, yes, I meant selvedge! It seems like I have run into so many cute selvages lately and I just have to save them. Luckily, I thought of this use for some of them. I was trying to post this in a hurry the other night and that word escaped me and I should have posted in the Pictures section instead of main. That's what I get for trying to hurry
