    Default Quilts for texas

    FELLOW QUILTERS!!!!
Want to help the kiddos in Uvlade, Texas? 'Quilts for Texas' is needing small quilts to give to kids next year!! One small way we could help....

--We all know quilters have big hearts & Carol Fleming is asking her fellow quilters to help make quilts for students & faculty at Robb Elementary School in Texas following this week's tragedy.

Please read on for more information. Carol is looking for 4' x 5' (48”x 60”) cheerful quilts before the start of the next school year. You can send donations to her directly.

As a result of the tragic event in Texas, I have organized a quilt drive for the students, faculty & staff at Robb Elementary in Uvalde, Texas. A quilt won't heal the broken hearts however, a quilt given at times of tragedy conveys the gift of love. We all agree that the world never has enough love.

Quilts should be approximately 4x5 feet! It would be wonderful if the quilt contains at least 1 Star block [for Texas] or 1 Heart block for love. No fabrics with weapons or characters that promote fighting or evil. Bright cheerful colors.

The goal of 800 quilts to be completed in time for the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year. The more who participate the faster we can gift Robb Elementary with quilts & love from across the USA.

How many 4x5 quilts could you create between now & July 4, 2022? If you would like to participate but are not a quilter or seamstress $$ donations or donation of clean new fabric is acceptable or handwritten notes/cards to be given with each quilt.

Donations may be sent to: Carol Fleming. P.O. BOX 53, Randleman, NC 27317.
    1. Make & donate a quilt or several quilts.
    2. Donate fabric for quilts.
    3. Write cards to be included with each quilt.
    4. Donation of funds to offset costs of supplies for other quilters.
    5. Spread the word!

I will be collecting donations until the week of July 4, 2022. Each quilt will be wrapped & a note of encouragement will be included.

Please share with all of your quilting friends, your church families or social groups.
Together this task can be accomplished in record time!
Thank you for supporting the children of Robb Elementary in Texas.

Yes, please contact Project Linus. They are already working with the school district with how and when distribution will take place.

We got word yesterday that the goal had been met with Project Linus. Blankets for all students and staff in the district! Quilters are wonderful people.

I had been waiting for someone to suggest making quilts for Texas. As a quilter for Project Linus, I'm so happy to hear they stepped up for this. Hopefully the quilts will put a smile on the faces of the children there.
