That is certainly something I can use. I guess I should consider making one for myself, then my daughters, MIL, SIL... :-D

Yep, it works! I put a square of insulbrite between the "lining and the bottom and the loop at the corner before i put on the first folded square; I messed up on the first one but the second one came out right. I made my squares 6.5" but I think they should be bigger.

They took no time at all (the longest was digging out the fabric - lol)

One year I made strawberries on a ribbon that you can wear like a necklace, the strawberry is stuffed and is a very handy pincushion. Everyone seemed very excited and several are still using them. I keep losing mine. Use red fabric with little white dots on it, cut a circle about the size of a coffee cup, cut in 1/2
fold, stitch the seam, gather the top & stuff, add a piece of felt
cut like the green part on top of a strawberry add the ribbon and there you are for very little expense. I lose it because every now and then a cat passes me with the strawberry in tow.

I made these quick little pincushions for all my quilt friends this year. I used pom pom trim, cutting each one off the ribbon and gluing them onto a golf tee. They fit in a spool of thread and are handy when doing hand work. I also use golf tees to keep my filled bobbins with the spools they go with.

What a clever idea! I think I'm going to have to go out and buy some golf tees to use with my bobbins too. Thank you for sharing!

I made these for Christmas 09 and made smaller ones to use as ornaments.
