I love this quilt- I am in a strip robin here on the board and told the others that my theme is purple and orange. I hope it does not purplex everyone... I just love purple orange and red. I would put an off-white with it, though, I hate white...

Ok, so here I am... again! I got it narrowed down to 2 choices, I think..? Erhmm, maybe 4 actually but these are the 2 that got the most input from all here. LoL! She doesn't have a preference for a pattern, and would prefer only the 2 colors. In #1, I would be switching the darker color with purple and the lighter color with orange. Then keep the striped sashing but with purple/orange stripes instead of green? I do like the lime green cornerstones though.
In #2, the green would be med. to dark purple with the lavender staying and the red would then be the bright orange..? Maybe? Or the red being the lavender and the lavender then being an orange? Do ya see my dilemma here? LoL!
Sooo...... whatcha think? #1 or #2 and how would ya color it staying in the purple/orange condition?

I really like #2. That would work well for orange and purple.

I made a purple & orange quilt from blocks I cut from my new GO machine. It is bright & cheerfull and everyone who see it says...wow, orange & purple, who would have guessed. I will take picture & send you, if you tell me how to send. Kayrn

isn't it amazing how you get a color that you can't stand!! Thats how I am with blue! It is so boring, red, yellow, orange, purple, green when there are all these wonderful colors, who needs blue!!

In my days before quilting and raising my family, I had leftover purple and orange fabrics from some clothing sewing projects. I just placed them on a bed sheet and zigzagged the edges, found an old blanket for batting put on another piece for the backing and tied it. My youngest son (dage 10 back then) thought it was the greatest quilt. I believe he still has it and he now 34. He also covets an afghan that I crocheted when I was pregnant with him as his favorite to cuddle in when he's cold.
