    WHO KNEW!

I have been asked by two different quilt guilds in the area to do a class on my scrappy rag quilt so I told them I would early next year.

By than I will have experimented in doing other versions of a rag quilt besides the usual simple way, as well as the scrappy way.

I'm going to be working on doing a Take 5 (sort of) a rag quilt by then as well.

So I will be creating a step by step lesson plan for them in the next couple months and the tools I use to create such.

I am amazed at how many traditional and contemporary EXPERIENCED quilters tell me they could not do what I do. Some say they would never have thought to take scraps and do what I do. I say they can, more so, because they are experienced quilters unlike me.

It was fun and interesting at last nights meeting at one of the guilds when I did a show and tell of my scrappy's and the rag quilt how some would point somewhere on the scrappy and tell me they wanted that piece here or there. I may just take that scrappy and cut some of it out and give it to the ladies that wanted that piece or that piece and let them use it as a focus in some quilt of there own. I can always easily make another king size scrappy.

So I have agreed to do a class for them....actually it will be 3 classes since one guild has two meetings each month and the other has one meeting each month.

I'm pretty sure I'll do a sort of Take 5 rag quilt, actually probably will be more like a Take 7 rag quilt with what I have in mind however I would like at some point do a rag quilt with some applique in it but haven't got it all in my mind what the theme would be.

Guess I'll know when I make it. :-)
