Default Rag quilt made from jelly roll

Here is a question for all who have made a rag quilt from a jelly roll. Do you make your seams 1/2 inch? I planned to do that but wanted to confirm with others that it will still look okay and my finished strip will not be too narrow. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience! I am still very new at this!

In order for it to rag, you would want half inch seams. Here's a tutorial:

I would think a jelly roll us not your best choice for ragging, but that's my opinion. Better with larger pieces..
Edit--- I just checked out above site and I guess I stand corrected!

Go for it and show n tell!

Interesting. It doesn't look like she clips the seams. That would be a huge time saver!

I agree you will loose almost half of the jelly roll, dont think it would be worth it in the long run design wise

My church group of sewers used leftovers for rag quilts and it works, just a lot of seams because you will only have 1.5" of the fabric strip adding to the size of your quilt..

You can also sew four strips together and subcut those into squares and make those the rag blocks that works quite nicely.
