Default Rainbow color variety fabric for quilt

I always admire quilts done with a rainbow of colors and have picked a variety of paper pieced patterns for my to do list that require up to 48 different colors fading from dark red through all the colors and ending at purple. I was wondering where is a good source to find color variety fabrics. For those that have tried these types of patterns, what fabric bundles or precuts offered the best variety, colors and quality. Thanks.

I LOVE all those hand dyed bundles at quilt shows, but they can be expensive. Check out Robert Kaufman's Kona cotton- there's an endless variety of color. Remember, the color on out monitor is not necessarily the color of the fabric when it arrives. In person fabric shopping may be required.

A few years back there was a line of fabrics with colour graduation across the yardage. I don't know if they still make them.

All the above are great suggestions. Another possibility would be Simply Color Ombre:

I am making a stained glass wall hanging and got my fabric from afabricoasis.com
The fabric is pricey, but is good if you need a gradient from light to dark. I tried to post a picture, but was unable to.
Good luck, and if you have any questions, I'll be happy to help if I can.
