I had offered to donate a quilt to a local group for their annual fundraiser. I learned 2 other quilts have already been donated. Because of that, I decided not to donate the quilt. I feel like if there are 3 quilts available, none of them will raise the funds they could because there are too many of the "same thing". I'll help out in some other way.

I donated a Queen sized vintage Flower Garden patterned quilt (new, never been used) to our church last year for a raffle. Our pastor would not let us use the words "raffle" or "chance". So we used the phrase "potential opportunity for ownership". We sold our "POFO" for $1 and spent about 3 months on the sales. We made over $4,000. We feel what helped our sales was a picture we used of the quilt spread out on a queen sized bed so people could see what it would actually see what it would look like on a bed. Also, it was a hand stitched, hand quilted quilt and had beautiful colors.
