Red or blue?

I always have a difficult time picking a color for someone. Advice on whether the tones or values work is one thing, but color is totally your preference. Who are you giving it to? A younger person might tend to prefer the brighter red, while a bit older may want the calmer blue. If you are donating it for a charity sale - again, think of the crowd who would be bidding. Both colors work - but for different reasons. What I often tell my students is to lay them out in a room. Every time you enter the room, which one draws your eye? or your touch? That is often the best way to pick which one you prefer. When I was very small, my mother said every time I was in a store, I was always touching anything purple - didn't matter what is was, if it was purple, I was drawn to it. So they knew if they gave me something purple, I would be happy.

I've finally finished the appliqué for this quilt (it's driven me a bit mad! I'm not cut out for this amount of appliqué in a quilt!)
I'm having trouble deciding on the sashing colour. It needs to be gender neutral so I've mainly just gone for bright colours.
What do you think?
