I like the red....it makes the blocks pop.

Prefer the red next to the .block. Bright and colourful.

I really like the blue. It looks like the perfect quilt to convince a child it's time to go night-night. But the one with the narrow red border followed by the blue looks fun. Tough choice.

Really cute quilt, by the way.

Really cute quilt. Those applique blocks are really charming and any child would love them. I like the red border because most children love red. Either complements your blocks, however. Be sure to let us know which one you choose.

Either color will be great. It's all personal taste but I loved the idea of a dark brown. I can see it. Take a cpl of blocks with you if you aren't using stash to get the right shade.
I totally agree with you about more appliqué than you like. Me too.

The red looks best to me. It frames the blocks nicely.
For some reason the blue just doesn't have the same effect. If you want the blue, maybe a darker shade would work better?

I would sash the blocks using black/white print on the red background.

Thanks so much for all your votes and suggestions :-)

I hope you won't think me rude for not replying until now, but my phone decided it wouldn't let me post replies and my computer gave up on me a few weeks back! I finally have my new computer so can get back on here properly :-D

In the end I went with a red frame and blue sashing, because it was the best of both worlds and solved all the issues I had with trying to choose between them! Such a simple solution, but without this board I'd probably still be thinking "Red or Blue?", instead of it being mostly quilted!

I'll try and get a photo up tomorrow once I've found my way around Windows 10 a bit more!

    Thanks again everyone :-D
