    I have eight half yards of various red,white and blue fabric. I want to make a patriotic quilt for my Son in law. Does anybody have an easy pattern that I could do. Im not an expert quilter but I have done some pretty quilts.

    It's a bit more interesting than a D9P.

    You don't have to do it exactly like the picture, but it's a nice layout, and very versatile. You already have the desired colored fabrics.

    Anyway, I came across it a few days ago and it really caught my eye. I immediately thought of it when I saw your post.

    I'm sure your SIL will be thrilled with whatever you make for him.

    Just stumbled across this one- I really like the way a few very, very simple blocks (and a nifty color change) create the fabulous lines in the first quilt:

    I agree...stars in red, white, and blue are as patriotic as it gets :thumbup:
