I use Blue Dawn, Baking Soda and Peroxide, making a paste, to get out stains. Works every time.

I have found Dawn is one of the best spot removers ever.

I sometimes get stains on my blocks that seem to come from stains on my ironing board cover especially when using spray starch, even Best Press. I have found that Dawn dish detergent works well getting the stains out, but I still get upset about it!
