replacement or sharpen your rotary blades
#21
I have been using the blue sharpener for years. I don't have to replace a blade very often. I think it helps that the blade on my rotary cuter retracts when you release the handle so there is less chance of getting small nicks.

I still use the blades from Harbor freight. At less than a dollar a blade I can afford to change them when they start to skip. I have had a few bad ones, those go into a drawer with a cutter for paper only. My 28mm cutter blade replacements have a bad blade in the packs before. A dull blade is just as dangerous as a shape one.

I tried the ones from Harbor freight and wasn't real thrilled with them. I have a sharpener and use it in a pinch. I recently bought a pack off Amazon-10 for $13 and since I'm a prime member I didn't pay shipping. I just started using the 1st one and so far...so good!

I have yet to hear from someone that the sharpeners work. Maybe for blades used for other purposes, but not for fabric. Using the 50% coupon at Joanns is good. Better still is when they are 40% off and there is a 20% total purchase coupon! I have also found some great deals on Ebay and so far have found the blades to be great. I really hate throwing blades out, but, I figure if I am thrifty with everything else, I'll just live with this!!!
