I use whatever iron I find and usually they are yard sale finds. That being said, I started doing that after I spent a bundle on a Oliso and a Rowenta. Both were leaking within a year and "that's just not right"! LOL So frugal is my middle name now (at least for irons).

I have an Oliso and love it because I tend to leave my irons set on the board and scorch the cover so I like the Oliso because of its popping up feature when you are not using it and I never use water in it. If I need water I will spray it on.

I have an Oliso that was purchased about two years ago. It now leaks (sometimes) and I have to watch to make sure the feet come down when I sit it on ironing board. Sometimes it doesn't come down and made a scorch mark on ironing board cover.

I just have a cheap black and decker, steam dry iron, Works fine for me, had it a couple of years. If it dies I will
replace it with another without having to spend the big bucks.

I will never spend good money for expensive irons when you can get them, brand new, from resale shops.... Rowenta's and others.....

I agree with these two brands and your opinion. I love the way the Oliso raises itself up off the table after a few seconds but that doesn't justify the price difference in my opinion. My BnD actually was a refurbished one from Big Lots. I did try to get one that had a longer time preset before it shut off but wanted one that shut it self off as a saftey thing. There are so many other things you can spend that extra money on.

I have a Shark and have had it for so long, that I don't remember - and no leaks!! I also like it because it does NOT have a teflon bottom. I didn't want a teflon bottom because the last iron I had, the teflon started to melt off and get all over whatever I was working on. The Shark I have is a heavier iron, but thankfully, that is not an issue (at the moment )

I had a Shark and decided to donate it to our church when I wanted another iron. I replaced it with a Rowenta that I don't really like. I wish I had my Shark back. Next one I get will be the Shark again. Not terribly expensive and can be purchased with lots of the bells and whistles. Haven't seen one that pops up yet, but guess I can live without that feature!
