I feel pretty good, because at 67, I fall into one of the larger groups of quilters. And I would say that you are never too old to learn. I have been putting blocks together for years, but this board has helped me so much in learning tricks to make putting those blocks together easier. I really don't call myself a quilter, because I don't get the hang of FMQ, and am too impatient to practice, practice, practice, when I can be sewing more tops, so all of my pieces are SID. It works for me.

I think that one of the reasons the majority are in their 50's & 60's is because they finally have the time ! I didn't answer originally - didn't see the post until the results were tallied. I am 44. My mother was a sew-er and a pretty good one too. I did some sewing in my late 20's and early 30's - a few easy pattern skirts and shorts and some easy baby quilts. My last child is 4 yrs old and in school every morning. I am just finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and finally have a chunk of time to get some things done. I am finding it difficult to get someone to go to classes with me though :( it is more fun with a friend!

I am amazed at the young mothers who are able to find time to quilt. I think of Leah Day who posts her demos. God Bless you All.
