I bought the Fiskars. Life it, but don't like it. So, bought the mechanism base and made my own with wood base and cutting mat put on the top. Really like it.

you could make your own if you have an old cuttung mat that you no longer use but one of those lazy susans and cut your old mat to fit and glu it on maybe find a lazy susan in a thrift store

I have both sizes also and find them very useful, especially when cutting quarter square triangles. Use the Jo Ann coupons when you can get them 40-50% off.

I have both the small one and the 12x12 mat. I have never used the small one, but I use the 12x12 all the time. I use it to cut scraps. Another benefit is that it is much more portable than big cutting mats. I often go to a friend's house to have a "cutting scraps" day and the mat is easy to pack in a large shopping bag with scraps. Love it!

I have both, they are Fiskars. The larger one is just great for cutting blocks for the DP9 patch, the smaller one for paper piecing. Using a coupon plus having the 10% non-profit card makes them affordable.

Hubby made me one. Piece of plywood the size of my medium cutting board. Get a lazy susan at the hardware store, Lowe's $9.79. Just takes a couple of screws to attach. Love it, my main place to cut.

I have both sizes of the yellow brand (sorry forget the name). I recomend them especially for squaring off blocks. I have one of the orginal round ones, Brooklin Revolver, and wore it out; their new ones are to pricey. Someday I may glue a different mat on it.

Hubby made me one. We got a lazy susan at Lowe's for about 9.79, attached it to a piece of 1/2 plywood the size of my cutting mat, 11 x 17, it only takes two screws. Love it, my main cutting spot.
