I got an Olfa 17" at a close-out store for $7.50. It doesn't turn as easily as I hoped it would, but being an Olfa makes it worth the price. I definitely wouldn't pay regular price for one.

I have one and seldom use it because it does revolve, but not easily. Maybe it is just me.

I have the square mat that has the ironing pad on the back side....about the same size as the small rotating mat. I bought it mainly for travel but find it is a good....and less expensive.....substitute for a rotating mat.

I don't live near any craft stores like joanns, hobby lobby, michaels, When I read about all these buys with the coupons i kind of wish I did lol. I did buy one at walmart and I do use it frequently.

Being left-handed, I often seem to have my pieces laid out wrong. It certainly has been handy in my quilting projects.

I have the bigger one and I don't particularly like it, because iit is to big to move around. (my fault, I have a small table) But I saw on Fons and Porter that they use a small mat rotating the mat without the actual "mechanism". (Thanks to
    thimblebug6000 for her words)

I have two sizes and really find them handy. I buy all mats, cutters, etc. at Joanns when I have a 50% off coupon and an additional 20% or 25% off entire purchase. Joann has 20% off entire purchase this weekend and 25% later in March

I have a small one. I am still getting the hang of it but I think, if you get it on sale, it's worth it!
