ROFL! That's what I tell my DH when I'm gazing around and driving. I tell him I pay taxes for both sides of the road. LMAO
Agree both sides are yours. ( fabric, that is )

look at the selvedge. One side will probably look more finished than the other. Good side is top. otherwise it probably won't make a difference. Just be sure you use the same side as top for all as light can reflect some colorw

I read an article and it said that sometimes when using a fabric you may want to turn it over for a softer shade of that fabic to be use in the quilt. I've looked at some of mine and thats a very good idea.

the printed side of the salvage will be the right side...but i pay for both sides of my fabric, and use both equally...it does not matter to me if (someone ) may think i used the wrong side, i do not believe there is a wrong side, both sides can be beautiful, both sides are usable. i use which ever side i like the best in what i am doing. if you study water color quilts you will find alot of the fabrics are turned over to their (lighter) side

Most of the time, it doesn't matter. If you do want to try to keep them all the same throughout the quilt, mark which ever you decide is the back side of the whole piece with chalk every couple of inches before you cut it. It saves on having to examine each piece and decide as you sew.

Now that it is bright and sunny in my sewing room I looked at the selvage and sure enough there is a better side. Thanks so much.
