What a great birthday gift! If you don't find a use for some of the material, I would be willing to discuss purchasing some of it. I belong to a non-profit organization that makes lap quilts for homeless kids and kids that re in foster care. There is a particular need to boy material.I would be willing to pay for shipping, if it's reasonable. Will be using the qaug method using 2 1/2" or 3" strips. Can also use batting and will probably use some of our sheets for backing.
