From what I see in the picture, you have nothing to worry about except envy, or maybe jealousy. I see a beautiful contemporary design with perfect color choices for a man's quilt. What's not to like? If your mother doesn't like it, TOO BAD. Your "quilting design" is perfect for the layout. For only your second quilt is looks FANTASTIC!! Next quilt try sewing slower on the binding, or whatever is giving you problems. By the way, I have a college degree in art/education so I know what I am talking about. Good job.
