I am traveling with my Mom, DM? driving her home from Baltimore to Arlington, TX. So, I thought that this might be a great chance to find some new quilt shops along the way. Or also meet with anyone that has the time.

I am in Lexington, VA tonight, and will drive down HWY 81 to 40, passing thru Knoxville to Nashville sometime Thursday, hopefully spending time either in Nashville or Memphis. I don't know where I'll be on Friday, but it will be along those lines. I'll check the board for responses, hope to hear from you!

Texas is having a state wide shop hop. Here's a link for the site. Click on a zone and it will show you who is participating.

There is also the North Texas Shop Hop. Here's the site for that one. Some of the shops are duplicated.

How long will you be in the area?

Maybe we can a few together and get a lunch going. There are quite a few nice shops in the area.

You HAVE to come down to Gastonia, NC and go to MaryJo's http://maryjos.com/ Swing down 81 to 77 to 85 exit 21 left at the end of the ramp right into the parking lot.

There is a terrific shop in Jonesborough, TN - Tennessee Quilts. It is a little off the path of 81, but worth the slight detour. Mammaw's Thimble is on Papermill in Knoxville. It is very easy to get to from 40, just west of the downtown area. There is another fairly large shop in West Knoxville near the Lovell Road exit of 40 called Gina's Bernina. If you want more specifics, pm me and I'll send some info, although you could probably Google the maps. Oh, and if you are going through Hagerstown, MD to get to 81, there is a great shop there - Wilson's. It is a little north of where 70 joins 81.

What a nice trip. Be sure you have enough room in your suitcase for all you find......Or you could just mail it to yourself.
