Rookie Mistake

DogHouseMom: Been there, done that, got the t-shirt (and on my Janome as well) - LOL. When you are in the throws of a problem - for some reason we don't always do what we know we should. I hate it when my baby is off kilter.

My friend called me yesterday having problems with a machine I sold her over a year ago. It would not pick up the bobbin thread. We chatted a bit...and she called me back in a hour...all fixed. What did it need? To be rethreaded! She has been sewing ALOT longer than me...you are NOT alone! lolol

Funny story. At least you didn't take it in to be repaired.
My most embarrassing repair - I have one antique machine that threads differently from all the rest. I know this and have known it since I've bought it. One day I forgot - it would not sew. I took it in to my repairman. He just looked at it without even touching it told me my needle was in backwards. He did not charge me

Yeah....I used to borrow my friend's Viking to sew and do embroidery. I learned that it is usually the top thread that needs to be restrung and restrung and restrung and restrung. That machine thread continually jumped out of place. After a while I was accustomed to re-threading the machine, but let a newbie come sit down at her Viking and they go completely bananas because they didn't think a sewing machine should have problems like that!!! Not all do, but this one did. Finally got my own machine and I'm very happy to use it. Doesn't mess up too much. ;) ;-) :?
