    Default Rotary blade disposal

Where or how do you dispose of old rotary blades? I have them in a plastic container, but do not know where to throw them.

Martelli sells a blade tin for a few bucks. I use that to store my dull blades in, then when it’s full, I toss it tin and all.

If you don't have a container you can wrap it in duct tape and then dispose in your trash.

Some pharmacies will let you put them in their sharps disposal if they are in a secure container.

Ice Breakers - Breath Savers - little plastic containers - they have a flap type lid. I put the blades, needles, bent pins anything sharp in them - when it is full tape it shut toss it in the garbage. Works great.

I have a large pill bottle that they fit in perfectly. When full,(which takes a long time for me) throw the whole thing in the trash.

I take mine ( in a container) to our local hardware store, the sharpen them and use them, one hardware I know of sells them as used blades to carpet layers at discount prices. There are many ( trade people) who would appreciate your used blades. Small, local companies, tradesmen are always looking for ways to save a little money. I haven’t thrown my blades away in 15 years
