    Thanks to everyone for your input. It seems like such a waste to throw them out but I certainly don't want to waste fabric. I appreciate the tip about Harbor Freight. I just have to find one in my area. For MMonohon: I'd love to hear how it works when you get it. I knew you ladies would give me the straight scoop.. Hugs.

    I really like the Orbital sharpener. It sharpens 2 sizes of blades. I got it from www.tooltron.com. They have free shipping through today. I also buy their mini seam rippers by the dozens. The price on their site shows $1.50 but Ive always been charged .99. Maybe because I buy so many. They are great little blades. Especially for ripping out paper piecing!
