    Default Rotary blades

Saw a post on here for cheap made in Japan blades on Amazon, so I bought some, just came. When I opened them they looked used green lint in the oil. My first thought was Well you didn't pay much, didn't get much. Tried them anyway, I am impressed, the cut is so smooth.

I only buy Fiskar blades. I have tried cheap blades and they are not good.

Think the article you read here was about the Headley Titanium blades on Amazon. I did buy them and they're gold colored. Tried them out and love them. I had recently picked up a couple 60mm titatium blades for $20.27/ea so I was impressed when I tried these 45mm from Amazon. I thought I was out of new blades but just found them the other day. Had them at the other end of the cabinet so moved them with the new ones and I'm good for a good while now. Even gave a few of these 45mm to a couple quilters to try out. At the price I could be generous.

I also ordered the Headley based upon Onebyone review. Have not tired them yet but i did get one each to some fellow quilters at work. I have faith they are amazing!

My Headley are just regular, not titanium, a pkg. of 10 for 17.98, I'm in Canada. Never saw those. I did receive the gold ones last year, no name on them, they were junk, still have a few left.

I stick with the Martelli blades, because I can only use that cutter.

Several in my quilting group use the Martelli cutter and use other brand of blades in them. One uses the Olfa Endurance blade in hers.

"Titanium" blades aren't made of that metal. They're regular blades coated with a very thin layer of titanium nitride, a ceramic coating applied to improve wear resistance and also used as a decorative coating. It's often used for things like watches to make them gold in color, rather than using gold plating (which has poor wear resistance).

If made from Titanium the blade would cost as much as sewing machine. LOL
