From Googling, my understanding is that Olfa blades will fit in the Martelli cutter; however, the Olfa blades have extra grooves in them which will wear out the Martelli screw.

Incidentally, by Googling I see that the Martelli cutter is also sold as an ERgo 2000 cutter; may be less expensive purchased that way. Overstock.com has the right-handed Martelli (but shows a picture of the black-handled left-handed Martelli) for $17.

Amazon has the left-handed cutter for $21 including shipping.

If you have a JoAnns close to you use a coupon and get one for a great price. They also have the blades on sale as well usually for 50% off. Get on their mailing list if you're not and find out when they have quilting items on sale.

My rotary cutter is one of the original designs from 20 years ago. It can't be changed to the other side. Guess I will try Joann's tomorrow.
