Rotary Cutter Game Changer
I stumbled upon a new rotary cutter that has ball bearings and OMG what a difference! Framore’ 45mm. Talk about smooth as butter and very little pressure required for cutting and no more washers (though my Olfa Splash was my go to as they have no washers and blade changes are easy). I ordered from Linda’s Electric Quilters on Friday and just got it today. I am ordering a few more.

Hmmm, i changed an Olfa blade recently and it took me 15 minutes at least to get it to cut without wobbling. last time i took it apart and wiggled things, it slipped into place. What ever it was that was causing the problem. which I'd never encountered before. I'm getting old or my cutter is. hmmmmmm.

The Framore mechanism sounds admirable, but I refuse to use a rotary cutter that you must open and close manually. They are a pain to use and just plain dangerous.
I have always used the Olfa Deluxe cutters (the 60 cm being my day to day cutter) because it's squeeze action automatically closes the blade when you take your hand off the handle. So. Much. Safer.
I would love to try a Framore with the Olfa Deluxe handle design!

They are for sale on Missouri Star. Famore makes the rotary cutter for MS now. $19.99. They also have scissors and seam ripper made for MS too. They were introduced this week on the website and Jenny's last few tutorials.

I used to tighten my blade too much. The blade should be able to easily roll when just pushing the cutter. Too loose it wobbles, too tight and it is hard to push to make the cut.
