You could cut out the circle and do a whole cloth quilting design on it....
here is a website on how to design an appliqued one

I've seen some, but for the life of me I can't think of where? I wonder if Nancy Zieman had patterns for one or two on her site. I checked, and she doesn't have any round tablecloths, but she has several octagonal table toppers that could probably be made larger. Here's the link to the table topper patterns on her site:

I really like the Starry Night pattern. It looks easy, it's on sale for $4.49, and it's made out of charm packs. I've got some charm packs and I've been looking for a pattern for a table topper for my son's round dining room table for a Christmas present.
Thanks for helping me! :D

Two possibilities. Take any medallion quilt pattern and just make the center medallion part. Or take any block that 'reads' as a circle (e.g., sister's choice, love in a mist, crown of thorns, or almost any star block) and make it either giant sized for a single block tablecloth, or make a ring of them like a wreath in a more normal size.

Thankyou all for your help! I like the Starry Night as well. I also got smart (well, smarter) and did a search on the 'main forum' for round table cloth.
Found a couple really nice ones on there if you're interested. They are octgonal but that can be fixed with an outer border.
