I don't think the intent is to quilt the row as you go. Rather to use the rows in a quilt (for the contest - 8 rows from 8 different stores - quilted, bound and labeled). One description I've seen somewhere is that you can set the rows in whatever way you want.

there is no charge for the pattern. just go into the shop and ask for the pattern. here is the link for the info that I posted earlier
