    I have a tip, not about rulers but about seam rippers. I always had trouble using a seam ripper, I use a little utility knife that is usually for cutting wallpaper at the top and bottom pf the paper. Anyone who has wallpapered knows what I mean. It has snap off blades, so when it is dull you just push up the blade and snap off the dull tip and then you have a nice sharp blade again. an Exacto knife works too,but you have to change the blades more often
